Just Ordered My GC Coilover kit…Lots of Thanks…

    :rockband:

I’ve exhaustively researched suspension on this forum and decided against FK, which I threaded a question last week-the minimum drop is too much for life in Canada. Based on all the positive comments on the GC, I went that route and ordered my track/school kit yesterday (450F/550R 6”, with new RSMs). Now the waiting begins.

I just wanted to extend a huge thanks to this forum and everyone’s input and participation.

    Cheers

Thanks Purple , I hate the waiting part now. Gonna try and get lots of before and after shots.

Explicit…I ordered them from Tunerworks (www.tunerworks.com). They’re located in Alberta, Canada, so I don’t have to worry about cross border brokerage fees and as a bonus, I pay less sales tax because that province’s tax rate is lower than mine.

is the 525 helping the grip? that seems to be one problem is my rear feels a bit loose when comin out of a turn.. would this help it stick.. what should i do in order to get alittle more grip out back.. i am running 235's all around..

sg - i have the stock sways on.. ill have to look and see what my cambers are.. but i know the front and rear are both set for racing conditions (whatever that means.. lol).. my tire pressures are 35 front and 33 rear.. but it just seems that when im comin out it just slides from beneath me.. and then now that i think of it.. on entry it pushes a bit.. argh.. what are ur ride heights at from center of wheel to fender? as u can tell im still trying to get use to the setup.. i havet had any time to learn about it yet..

My set up is -3 front 0 toe, -2 rear 1/8 toe in, sways soft/soft, tires are the same as yours. I'm at 13" front, 11.75" rear, i don't have shortie rear shocks or camber plates.

i think i have a similar setup except i have a tad bit of toe upfront.. not much though.. my rear has some toe though. i wish i could find my sheets.. i think i left them at my apartment.. i don't have camber plates or shorties either.. my heights are the same i think.. hmmmm.. maybe i need to adjust the struts some.. argh.. i need to get to some driving events and learn i guess

SG and Purple…what the hell are shortie rear shocks? Do they normally come with the GC kit? A guy at GC said that they now recommend the 550R spring, especially for a 4 door sedan. He also recommended front wheel spacers for a *just in case* and to widen the track. As for the spacers, I didn’t want to wait 2-3 weeks for the kit, fit it on and end up with tire fitment issues and have to wait another week for spacers…this is my daily driver, so I ordered them.

I visited a shop here locally, and one guy said don’t do the coilovers, the younger guys said go for it. One guy runs coilovers on his Honda (2” drop) and says on a good bump on the hwy, his head hits the roof. They also mentioned that the rear end could get jumpy on corners because the suspension is so tight. Has me worried.

I also want to switch to 235s all around. Is there any issues since the rear rims are wider? I guess you just rotate the tires, not the rims.

How do you think flat black powder coated contours with the aluminium finished (natural) lip would look on Artic Silver?
