CD Decks...

Ok, ive realized that the stock m3 CD deck is garbage. to top it off my screen doesnt even light up lol....so a few questions:



1. Whats the best deck in a reasonable price range (100-300)



2. Can i still use the 6 cd changer in the trunk with the new deck (so...7cds?)



3. Pictures would be great and helpful for me (unsmart :help: )

you can pick up a used Sony C-90 ES deck in ebay for around 3-500 depending on condition. to me the best sounding deck.. also you can put a sony 6 cd changer in the stock cd changer location. but you'll need a amp since it doen't have internal amp... there are a lot of decks out there.. generally when you looking for the cleanest sound look for the ones that does NOT have an amp built in.. introduces noice. or if you just want something better then stock almost anything over 200 is better then our stock units...

idk id go with alpine when it comes to decks. you can get a sweet one with so many sick feautres and high long lasting quality, i know from experience. you can get a good one for 290.

My g/f just got me an Alpine CDA-9811 for like 300 or so. Only problem is its damn green illumination, other than that it really wakes up the stock system.

I got myself a nakamichi cd400 - sweet sound quality and amber illumination available.

Watch for the Nakamichi's, I've heard they can have a tendency to not last too long. Not trying to burst anyones bubble & I've never owned one but for the money they want, the guys at the shop say to stay away from them. The new Alpines should all have color options this year.

Just ordered an Alpine from Crutchfield that will have 542 color options. I'm sure that one of them has to match our ambers. It won't be shipping out until mid April - I guess that's when Alpine officially releases that unit. I believe that its the CDA 9835

i got a clarion pro audio.. and it works great.. even matched it to the interior.. definitly does the job for 300$
