    Dove Grey seat problems...

I condition my Dove grey leather seats probably once every two months or so..

When I got the car last year, the seats were MINT. Now that I've had the M3 for this long.. the seats are worn all on the bolsters. It doesn't look near as good as it did when I got it.

So why are my seats wearing out? The person that had the car before me obviously did not have this problem..

What can I do? Wrinkle krinkles all over the bolsters.. ugh

btw i use BMW's Geniune Leather cleaner from the dealership..

I've got the same thing going on. My dove grey seats were perfect when I got the car, but I can start to see the drivers seat wearing. I ordered some Leatherique that should be arriving today. Hopefully that stuff works miracles like the people on Bimmerforums claim it does.

Same issue with my dove gray interior. I'm told that this color specifically is notorious for looking worn after a few years of use. I've looked into having it redyed which would make it look new but I'm not sure how it will wear. Let me know how that product you purchased works.

      Thanks,

Do your best not to ever crush them when you sit down. I know it sounds easy enough, but now I make a point when I get in and out not to put any weight on the bolsters.

        I got nothing though.

It's possible that the previous owner conditioned/dyed them immeadiatly before he sold the car... that could explain the seemingly excessive wear in a year or so...

Perhaps! But does dying them also remove the krinkles? the vein looking krinkles on the side bolsters...

No, but there is a process that fills the "krinkles" (I love it with a "k" ) and makes them look new again... I was at the leather shop yesterday as luck would have it and was asking exactly that question.

This type of appearance work is short term (less than 3 months the guy reckoned) and not that expensive... generally used just before selling a car.

i had my seats re-dyed back in January... they look great...but they just wear really quickly...and im seeing the wear spots slowly coming back, but this time they have more color in the cracks.. haha

Wow, this is interesting. I always thought the dove grey wore better than the black interior. I am looking for a used M now and thought the grey interior looked better on most cars, I was also told that it wears better from others. Any thoughts? Anyone check on the cost of actually redoing the interior?
