Tell me about it! But I just love black cars for some reason... That & Pearl white, which is another color that's impossible to keep clean. Good thing I have a garage now...
OH NOOO!! everytime I think im quitting the scearch one more pops up!
I just called on a awsome (maby) 99 M that sounds great with 42,000 miles for $22k.
heres the deal
Original owner!!!
Red with black int.
HK
heated seats
wing
everything but the good OBC
it also has HID's
THE BAD (from what he told me)
scratched/ curbed rims
some dings and scratches
and for me being RED!!
the guy sounds very particular about it and is meeting me tomorrow out side of NYC
This car sounds real good except for being RED, I think the car looks great in red but for me:
RED+ ///M POWER= loss of licence!!
It just seems like the car will get way too much attention (cops are the main concern)!! Im not a reckless driver by any means but I just feel like any thing I do bad in a red car will not go un noticed!!
I think if the car is in great shape than I'll just have to make that sacrifice!
But its RED oh no!! I just couldent pass it up it was too clean and nice!!
The guy was in his early 40's and I i can tell he drove it pretty easy
He lives in NYC so he used it only on the weekends really. And it stayed in a safe garage the rest of the time.
It just had an inspection II i think (seeing the records when i pick it up)
The interior is the best one i have seen!
The outside has great paint and no body work but it has alot of shallow dings and dents some of them i dont think i can fix with dent wizzard.
(its from NYC)
Underneith was clean but the front valance is pretty beat up on the underside
The hood looks kind of crooked from the front so it maby needs to be adjusted
Also the rims are destroyed from NYC curbs!!! (but it has brand new michellen piolits!!)
That was it though, it was perfect other than that. Engine and drive line are great and it drove awsome and tight.
Still on original brakes so i think they are comming up soon but they had some meat left.
Im pretty excited though and I pick it up later this week!
NOW for the questions!!
It has catz zeta HID head lights are thoes good ones?? What did they cost new? ARE there any side effects to having them like burning out the wiring harness or anything?? I was considering taking them out and putting it back to oem. LET me know what you guys think!!
Also I need a set of 4 good M double spoke wheels. I refuse to pay 400 a piece for new ones. So im trying to find a good set for like 800 max. Im also looking into having them redone/ refurbished.
Has anyone had that done?? HOw about some type of wheel exchage? What are my options?
I think that is it for now I definately need to get a Escort 8500 or Valintine one ASAP now that I will be driving a red car!!
IF you want to sell the headlights, you will have plenty of buyers. You sould probably keep them as the previous owner probably payed in excess of $800 or more for the entire setup.
I dont know too much about HID's but my main concern is, do they have any negitive effects being on the car or its wiring harness?
The guy told me when he had them put in he had to up the size of a fuse for that headlight circuit cause he said it draws more current, and it blew out the original fuse. That's what makes me nervous! I dont want to hurt the harness by drawing more through it than BMW intended.
Are they really wired in good? Could I put it back to stock very easily or is that whole unit all spliced into the harness? It dident look very plug and play to me but maby it was?
If they are worth alot maby I'll sell them to help fund my wheels getting fixed!
They are worth a lot of $ and you would have to buy entirely new headlights enclosures and all if you want to go back to OEM. It is normal to put a larger fuse in the box if you go to HID, but if you really wanted to sell it, there are a lot of people here that would be more than happy to buy them and give your their OEM units in exchange. Actually, I would offer you some $ right now for the swap if you are that worried. PM me if you are interested. If you were in the Ohio Area, I would even take them out and do the work for you.
hmmmm that looks pretty good, Ill give that place a ring.
Does anyone know where I can get thoes little ///M stickers that go into that little slot on the wheels??
i've seen the stickers on eBay...maybe check that out...i also haven purchased a reconditioned OEM wheel from the wheel collision center... http://www.wheelcollision.com ..came back in great shape...i know other people have used them also...check them out
