i spoke to the bmw parts dept and they told me that bmw never made an aluminum m3 pedal set with the m3 logo on it. Is this true?

    Yes.

    :fart:

    Sorry.

      Guys:

Just bought the M3 pedal set off Ebay, looks real nice for less than $60!

Can anyone help with install? No instructions with them, know I have to do a little drilling.

      :smash:

        Its very basic.

Put the peadles up to the real pedals. Mark drilling holes. Drill holes. You'll need metal drill bits. (Not made of metal, that drill INTO metal :smash

If you got the m-tec pedals, I suggest using #6x3/4" wood screws from home depot for the gas pedal. The hardware included will interfer with the operation of the gas pedal, and its rather tricky to install with the included hardware anyways.

Drill very small pilot holes in the gas pedal, and use the screws to attach, they are self tapping, and fit perfectly flush with the surface of the hole.

The dead pedal you need to drill small pilot holes, and use the included large screws, as they are self tapping also.

Trev, thanks! You said you'd have the info when I finally ordered.

What do you mean by m-tec? I've got the ones that say M on them. Understand the rest of the instructions.

for a good pair of pedals, go to Ebay and type in ACSchnitzer people are selling them brand new for $70. I already got screwed over and bought a pair of pedals for $120 on bimmian.com before i realized that people on ebay were selling them.

Hey Pizark, where in FC? An old Stamford boy is asking... yeah the prices are unreal on some site. But also, why wouldn't you want the pedals to name the car? Rather than some other company. To each his own, but I'm curious.

Re drill, will definitely let you guys know. I just need to find the time, working too long hours!

This is totally off thread, but lots of rain here lately, and even with plenty of rubber left, I so notice the difference in rain b/w my old T-1s's and the Pilot Sports. Just don't feel really solid on the road with these tires -- that's my take.

Well, the dead pedal is in, but took too long. I'm using a small battery drill, not powerful enough.

So the other pedals will have to wait for another day...

Anyone else out there done this, share what kind of drill and bit you used? Thanks.

Yep. Dewalt is the way to go. The brake pedal is a bitch to drill through but it'll go eventually.

It will also be much easier with some self-tapping screws, as Trevor suggested to me.

Sirius, what size drill bit is best in that impressive set of yours?
