    Accident

So I'm switching lanes into the lane with a school bus and suddenly it stops. I go into the rear corner of the school bus diagonally at a few miles per hour (less than 5) and I make contact about even with the level of my hood. So my hood is bent some, the right headlight pushed back, and a little bend on the part alongside the headlight. What do you guys think this is gonna cost me? I figure it might be worthwhile to just get a CF hood to replace the damaged hood, or do you think the damage is repairable?

(yah, I know...the car is dirty right now heh heh)

sorry for the wreck.. damn schoolbus.. tough to say whether u can fix that hoot.. i mean it probably could be fixed, but it may never be the same.. ya never know.. the headlight probably just slid back.. i would take the headlight out to get an idea if its ok.. or atleast to makesure the mounts are ok.. also it looks like there is a little mark in the kidney grill piece.. it can probably be fixed.. if u were going to get a carbon fiber hood though i would just do it.. or u could look for a used cosmos painted hood.. but it doesn't look too bad..

Same thing happened to my friend - $tealer prices were about $2300 or so. Get some new lights and a CF hood and DIY (make sure nothing else is bent, though). Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback guys...CF hood wasn't one of my planned modifications, but since this happened it made me inclined to get one. So the bodyshop says the hood can't be fixed, new one from BMW is $398. CF hood from VIS is $547.50, so that's coming in two weeks $129 for the piece that goes just under the headlights (between them and the bumper) and $79.25 for a replacement headlight housing frame. Since the headlight is scratched, they're gonna buff it out some, but I'm going to end up getting a hold of Matt at umnitza soon and pick up some of those DDEs with angel eyes I guess. WAS going to get my CAI next, but guess this forces a change in approach. Only have pulleys so far, which I'm installing this weekend...

Hey Norlin, I have never seen ya around here before, I see you're from Delray, I live up the road in Jupiter. I am down in Delray all the time off Atlantic Ave and on Linton Blvd.as well. There are only me, you, and Badmother from Palm Bch County. I will keep an eye out for ya when I am down your way. Props on gettin the CF hood. I would probly never get that mod but if I had to replace my hood thats the way i would go too. Damn schoolbus, when did this happen? I wonder if it will be in the Palm bch Post?

The news will say " Road Rage strikes again , driver in a high performance BMW attacks schoolbus full of mentally challenged children, possible Al-Queada connection??"

Ha ha ha, yeah I live just off Lake Ida (one block North of Atlantic Ave) just west of I95. As for the schoolbus, stupid thing didn't even notice it was hit and drove off...which I guess was fine by me since I'm getting the CF hood, so paying the repair out of pocket rather than through insurance...cops prolly would have given me some sort of ticket too! Would be nice to check out your guys cars and chat things up!

Now I got everything off the car for the pulleys...but the alternator pulley. Didn't realize there's nothing to brace to stop it from turning when I try to loosen it...guess I have to pick up a strap wrench or something in the morning, does anyone have any suggestions for this?
