    Anyone ever experience this?

While driving on the highway the other day, the car & steering wheel began to shake noticeably. I also detected a faint, I would like to say burning smell, but am not sure. I was traveling around 75 mph. Road & tire noise also seemed to be more pronounced. After about 10 minutes, it stopped. When I got to my destination, I checked under the hood, and didn't see anything alarming. I did detect that faint smell, but could not isloate it. Nothing appeared to be wrong with the tires either.

This has happened twice in the past 3 months, and I am not quite what happened. Anybody? Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the buring smell unless some oil or cleaning fluid was spilt on it. My steering wheel shakes a little too. I hit some winter pot holes and that could have done it. Maybe go get your tires re balanced. That my take away the shake in the steering wheel.

Check your brake calipers. My passenger side started to seize and was causing a *burning* smell and once in a while the wheel would shake violently under hard braking coming off the hwy. It just kept getting progressively worse. Had the caliper rebuilt.

I'm an idiot. I should have realized this could be the problem not only b/c it's obvious, but b/c the same thing happened to my fiancee's car about 3 months ago. Thx.
