    PAR cold air intake

I know this topic has been debated many times in this forum, which CAI is better? But I would like to here from people who have purchased the PAR CAI. How do you like it, were there any Cons versus a CAI thats goes into the bumper (such as the benfer or dinan intake)? Anything else I may want to know...just looking for some last minute guidance before I purchase...if anyone else has advice to I am all ears...

the PAR intake is great, no complains and has a great sound. It has a heatshield and comes w/ picture intallation guide. I know i put a picture in this forum before of the intake installed. I don't really think theres any cons compared to the Dinan intake other than it not passing the smog check. But to take the intake off is a 20 min. tops job. Most of it is gettin the right tools. The PrO's is the price.

i see that it gives an 11.2 hp gain how much hp do other intakes throw out such as dinan, aa, carbonio, etc.

nope, Dinan doesn't. It's not that ur polluting the air more, it has to do with it being certified or sumfin like that. Dinan paid more to get certified. Other brands didn't want to waste money on that. At least, this is what i was told. Can anybody back me up on this or at least tell me i'm wrong?

I have the PAR intake and I love it. I got it with the K&N filter. You won't notice any sound difference until you get on the engine. At WOT, the sound is orgasmic. Dinan and now ECIS are the only manufacturers that have CARB legal intakes. Apparently, the CARB process is lengthy and pricey. The intake itself won't affect the actual emissions being produced by the car much. Your car should definitely pass the sniffer test. The problem is that the intake isn't CARB legal and therefore won't have that $0.01 CARB sticker that all we Californians long for. Without the sticker, your car will not pass visual inspection. If you don't pass the visual part (which is done first), they won't even do the sniffer test. I just recently got my car smogged and it took about 5 minutes to take the PAR intake off and put the stock airbox back on. Drove it around for 10 minutes and passed smog with flying colors. Got back, put the PAR intake back on, and I was ready to rock and roll. Hope this info helps. Enjoy the intake when you do get it.
