    Cams....Lets Hear All The Opinions

I have been looking at cams lately and wanted some more hands-on information.

Is there anything wrong with changing the engine internally?

They claim 300hp on a 95M with a HFM and Intake. But i also hear that an HFM doesnt matter much on a 96+ car.

What i was planning on doing was buying a JC intake and the cams....should i buy new springs and valve seats too?

Any advice, objections, or opinions are appreciated! :smash:

Also, do they ruin your idle and fuel mileage?

For OBDII you really only have one option for cams. The JC cam kit. It has everything you need to do cams, m50 manifold, and hfm.

You can piece together your own cam kit, but you will need to find software out there.

Check out this site. It's a complete kit. If you pay to have someone install it that might run you another $1000-$1500. Bimmerhaus here in Colorado speaks very highly of this kit. I am considering getting it later this spring/summer.

That cam kit is sweet...but if you are planning on getting a turbo kit system in the future, don't waste the money on that kind of kit...you'll just end up putting the stock cams back in there.

I am going with shrick cams. In terms of your idle all depends on what type of cam you get with duration and all that good stuff. www.bmpd.com deals shrick cams and they have tons of different options to choose from...Mine should be coming in any day now once i figure out whether i do my engine transplant or not i ll let you know how they are.

By the way they reccomend upgrading your injectors if you are thinking of doing this gq style i believe is the person is selling new 24lb bosch injectors for 150 a set...on bimmerforums ... should be getting my set next week. You will also need software conforti is good and bmp has some as well active autowerkes for 399.

In terms of valve springs i would upgrade them if i were you...Retainers are necessary though
