u guys? i'm not trying to argue here, i just think that car clubs are gay, too much drama, people are always trying to be better than one another, etc.. cruises and hang out meets are cool, but other than that it's whack... and the issue about my banner shouldn't really concern anyone, banner blocks the sun, i like it, and it pays off to have.. by the time someone saves up to get one mod at full price i'm getting 2 or 3 for the same $$.. correct me if i'm wrong..

No you're not wrong. I'm not a big banner fan myself, but it doesn't look that bad either. I'm sure plenty of people would put a banner on their car if it could save them that kind of money. You seem to be a bit touchy (and dare I say high-and-mighty) about your banner, your sponsers, and your cost savings. After all, who needs to be in car clubs when you can be superior on a web forum?

My first post was an attempt (failed obviously) to lighten the discussion here. I thought the way this thread got off topic was quite funny. I have no problem with anyone putting stickers on their cars (I don't have any) or being sponsored (which I'm not). I just think it's funny when you bash car clubs ("car club stickers are gay, and so are car clubs") because "people are always trying to be better than one another" and then you go on to say something like "u guys are just jealous that u aren't sponsored..".
I'm not jealous, I'm not sponsored, nor am I a part of any car clubs. I don't really care. I get my fair share of hookups on parts/prices, but I'm not going to brag about it or even explain it any further. I'm sure you get better prices. That's fine. More power to ya. How about you hook some people up instead of braging about it? Or even provide some info for people who are looking to get sponsored (which I'm not)? Anything helpful perhaps?

woa woa woa, first of all i'm not bragging about being sponsored, and i hook those up that pm or ask me for anything, it's really hard to get sponsored and its not even that big of a deal, u just have to have a clean car and be in the right place at the right time, u got to get the owner interested and make it seem like u are willing to promote their name, then u get free or discounted products.. i just had enough of forum people bashing on my banner, thats all.. like i said it pays off. and once again i'm not bragging about beeing sponsored, to me its just people i know and go to shows with just to hang out and have fun, i stop by the shop to say hi and talk to customers, buy things occasionally, find out new info on products etc.. it's nothing to brag about, i don't own the shop and i guess whoever mentioned above that i'm too cheap to pay full price.. sure i may be cheap to pay full price because in my opinion for example an intake from umnitza is $239, heat shield is only $85 separatly which isnt too bad, but then u pay over $200 just for a 3 inch pipe and a cone filter.. u can buy a heatshield for $85, buy a separate filter (K&N and not some blue crappy one) for like $30, and get a "hot" air intake for a civic from kragen for $30, cut a piece off and use it the same way, it will look just as good, and u saved ur self some money.. now u guys are probably gonna say that i'm ghetto, but i dont care, i just think paying full price for products is straight stupid.. (and i do have a real intake thats actual real cold air, not wanna be like the one from umnitza) and i got mine free.. not braggin just making a point..

Ahhh dude being is a Car club just means you enjoy the cars in it or your car, same with talking with others that ahve the same feeling. Maybe by doing so you meet new people and make new friends that can help you out with driving skills or maybe parts. I don't know why you are bashing them with "i just think that car clubs are gay, too much drama, people are always trying to be better than one another, etc.. " And you can really leave the drama when you don't let it affect you.
And yes putting a decal or sticker on your car is fine if it is sized right. And Banners don't do it for me. But its your car.
Edit: I have many of friends that are sponsored such as Da3bous, and others from a differen't forum. And I find that is fine, even so that I would like to be sponsored. But Just to make my point again. Bashing some car clubs just because some people in there are jerks doesn't mean there all the same.

We cool then. I just think it's silly for anyone to bash anyone about anything else. Be it either "your banner is gay" or "car clubs are gay". In fact, I also thing that's a pretty bad mis-use of that word (at this point I'd like to point out that I'm happily married - to a female). Anyway, we cool.

sorry i dont support companies that rip you off like umnitza and turner, for example, and i will never pay full price for anything, i get the hookups and the banner is well worth it.. u guys are just jealous that u aren't sponsored..
woooh.. i don't pay everything full price.. it seems i get in on GB's for my equipment.. which helps tremendously.. as for the jealousy.. u can count me as NOT being jealous.. i have been asked several times since i have been here and asked alot of questions but im just not down with it... im just not one of those guys that wants to be an advertisment on wheels.. also ur saying that it would be gay to have a 1 x 5 inch tag stating where u hang but yet u have a 5ft x 5 inch banner on the front of ur windshield... come on man.. what whould be the problem with such a small tag.. i want people to know where i am.. and learn about the car.. especailly when i see an M3.. just easier to show them the tag.. at least its not the side of the car i guess..
also.. please watch what u say about our sponsor(s)... :box:

Can't we all just get along? How about this statement...since we all drive/admire M3's, we are all the coolest people on earth. I like that one best. As far as stickers are concerned, If they are small, I think they look really cool on the side skirts. As far as banners are concerned, I think the GROUP 5 banner looks nice. The grey matches the car, and the print offsets it nicely. On the same token, there is a very clean car (purple99m3) with no stickers on it, but it still looks awesome. But that is my opinion.
I do have a question about GROUP 5 though. I though they worked primarily with Jap cars, when did they start working with Euro's? I have a buddy that is sponsored by Group 5 as well. He drives a white second generation eclipse, with blue trim. Ever seen his car?

group 5 been dealing with euros for a while now, they probably stock more euro stuff now than jap, the owner him self has a 95 m3 and he's a cool guy, i've seen the eclipse once, he doesnt come around any more... anyone in san diego thats interested in part go check them out, nice people and fast service.. now back to the car club issue, back when i had my civic and was sponsored by 7 places all the car clubs wanted my car including 935 draggers, honda's finest, etc.. but thats when my civic was fully finished all show, i've been in a few car clubs and its cool to hang out, but then there is so much drama, people get brought in for their car not their personality which then brings in assholes and users.. right now i hang out with team RENNen, and So Cal Euro which is kind of a car club but more of just a forum and gettogether, there is very minimal drama and the atmosphere is much better than the **** car clubs i was in... thats why i said that car clubs are gay.. but i'll take that statement back, and rephrase it to i dont want to deal with drama and i dont want to be in one..
