    Storing car for summer

Unfortunately I'm going to be spending my first summer of M ownership in Saddam's home land. I have a few questions about storing my car. While searching I came across this: "If you put the car on jack stands, use them under the suspension so all the bushings and springs are the way they are supposed to be, and not drooping down. Drooping from the weight of the wheels etc is hard on the suspension, and exposes parts to rust that normally are hidden." I'm trying to imagine how to do this. Is this recommended and does anyone have a pic?

Should I take the battery out of the car?

Like I said, I've been doing searches, but if you have any advise or if there is something that I should do to my car before I go I'd like to hear it. Thanks

You can store the car on its wheels, thats not going to hurt it at all. I would disconnect the batt though, you could save it, and put it under a cover.

And you never, ever put a car on jackstands on the suspension componets, I learned this at work, its a sure way to bend them. Always put them under the frame rails.

pump the tires up to 50psi this will keep them from flat spotting. Change oil and filter just before storing. Fill tank up full of gas and and add gas stabilizer to keep the gas from going bad. Drive the car a little to get the gas stabilizer up into the fuel rail and injectors.

Most importantly stay safe over there and watch your back.
