How bad are Z3 M ragtops?

Anyone driven a M z3? Or even a plain z3? I'm considering an M replacememnt but heard they handle lousy when pushed. Any fixes for them if they do? Thanks

had a '96 4 banger Z3. It was slow as hell. It handled pretty well but couldnt hold a candle to the S2000 we replaced it with

The fix for an M Roadster's handling problems is an M Coupe! About the most rigid BMW ever made. The e30 rear suspension issues can be remedied with a few aftermarket parts. Plus, the Coupes are pretty rare.

The M Z3's aren't bad but have some problems. My gf works at my local BMW dealership and has hear A LOT of complaints by techs about the Z3's. I guess some had some major problems with the interiors falling apart and other disheartening problems. Also they are kinda low on legroom. If you have the money opt for a 2001+ because they had the S54 engine in them.
