    Battery Choices

Well, I got my car out of storage tonight and found my battery went bad. I probably should have removed it when I put it into storage but was lazy. 70k it was probably time for a new one anyways.

Anyway, I am now looking for a new battery. The options I have seen are the Interstate MTP-91 about $90 or the Hawker SLA battery same price, but weighs only 13.5 lbs vs 40 or so for astock battery. Has anyone installed the Hawker, is the fit a problem? I am also concerned with its cold cranking amps. Will there be trouble with such a small battery?

Which battery would you recommend or is there something else that is better?

OH! Hawker is lightweight, there was a thread of a guy asking about a "hawk something" battery that was light weight, you've answered his question here Maybe you should also look at the Optima yellow or red top

True they do ****. I have the Hawker SLA 16a lightweight in my car. Plenty of cranking power, but if you run a huge soundsystem it might be too much for this size battery. It is very small, and fits in like 1/4 the space of the stock battery area. What i did was just go to a foam shop, and place some foam around the battery, and it holds it in tight as can be. Great weight savings mod for the money.

Another vote for OPTIMA SPIRALCELL sealed Batteries.

I have the BLUE TOP deep cycle marine battery.(High power sound system)

It's expensive, but worth every penny.
