    need help fast

well i was showing my friend from work my new intake for my new bmw and i noticed the filter on my intake seemed loose so i kinda put it in it's place. when i got back in my check engine light was on guessing from me moving the intake. My friend told me it was suppose to be lose becuase it's carbon fiber and it can crack. so i loosened the screw back but my light is still on what should i do?

I would check the connections to the mass airflow sensor. Perhaps when you messed with the intake it came loose.

How many miles are on your car? From what I have been told, the MAS can be easily be damaged from a sudden blow or jar to it, which is why some aftermarket intakes can be bad...

Just look inside and make sure everything is hooked up (it's really pretty simple). Also, get a Bentley Manual and a Peake code reader. CE lights aren't uncommon and are usually something you can fix if you know what the problem is. Your CE light may be unrelated to the intake. I don't think your intake filter should be loose either. Good luck.
