Impact sockets question

Just a quick silly question.

What's the difference between an impact socket and a normal socket, otehr than one is black, the other is silver (usually). Is it unwise to just use my normal socket set on my air impact wrench?

Strength. Impact sockets are stonger than normal sockets to take the force of the impact wrench.
