BBS offers the CH in a 18x10 for our cars. But at stock height you will have to roll and pull the fenders, and thats with a 255. Forget trying to fit 18x10 unless you are flaring the fenders and getting custom offset wheels. So Im guessing HRE 540r's are out of the question. Most likey.

I run 18X9s all around No roll, and 3" drop in front and 1.5" drop in back

18X10 is fitable with rolled fenders and likely only a 255 or even 265 at most.

My friend is running 18X9.5s with 265s, but his lips are very rolled on a coupe and he's very dropped.

          nice color and rims

e36 turbo....i'd say the 255 would be the max in the rear without any type of rubbing...but why would you want wider tires?

Wider tires in the back for better grip.

I have Breyton Inspirations 18 x 8.5 in front and 18 x 9.5 in the rear. I rolled the rear fenders slightly and have no rubbing with 265's in the rear. I love the wide wheel look. Makes the car look much more sturdy and mean IMO.

Just to add to the fire. The e36 m3 doesn't really need a bigger tire than a 255 in the rear, unless you are FI, why go for such a stagger?

As fabio says, "Makes the car look much more sturdy and mean"

                      Image is everything.

IMHO, I'd rather look lower, wider and faster even if it comes at a performance penalty

Wide tires look damn cool

The only thing I don't like about my winter wheels is that they don't give the car the same mean look from the back as my summer 245s do.

Let's read that last sentence slowly...lower, wider, faster even at a performance penalty....er yeah

Well lets be realistic here, well then again let me speak for myself. The M is a very good handeling car as we all know. But i'm not going out and racing my car on the autobhan (however you spell it) everyday. I live in Brooklyn, and all i basically do is drive to Staten Island to go see my girlfreind and then if we do anything else we use her car to go to stores or the movies or stuff like that (if i can avoid putting my car in a parking lot i will ) I'm not making sharp turns and racing people on the street at 110mph to my girlfriends house. So the possible loss of a little handling doesn't concern me and i'm sure it wouldn't be that much of a loss anyway. I like the look more than the handling only because i don' take my car to the track but for some of you that's not the case. My point is if your car is just for daily driving and some spirited driving every now and then then i don't think that getting the perfect width for handling should be your main concern. I like the mean sturdy look from the back. To me that almost makes the whole car. If i see bicycle tires in the back of a car then the rest of the car looks flimsy to me. But remember this is just me. I'm not ragging on anyone's ride or anyone elses opinion. Ok i'm done. Just my 2 cents.
