    Suspension: What to Buy???

    98 M3 4 door

I'm ready to buy a new suspension package for the car. I'm not interested in sway bars or strut bars. I know I need to buy the struts/shocks and springs. I would like the easiest setup/install...no cutting here, drill a hole there, etc. Which brand of products do I buy and where is the cheapest to buy from?

Also, what else do I have to change when replacing the suspension? I see talk about the rear shock mounts and the different bushings, etc.

Could someone LIST everything I need to change so that I do it all at once. The whole rear shock mount thing is very confusing to me.

    Thanks

just get H&R coilovers, and billet aluminum rear shock mounts, thats all you'll need..

Isn't H&R more expensive than GC? Well atleast at this site it is: http://www.m3motorwerks.com/products/category.php/CA=48/PA=3

What about Eibach coilovers, has anyone tried or heard of them? According to thier catalog they make them for e36 M3 but I can't find anyone who sells them.

Don't bother with coilovers... that's just extra expense for stuff that you'll likely not use. Straight H&R shocks/springs or somethingl like that will be great and not too expensive.

As for the Rear Shock Mount (RSM) thing, it's the piece in the upper rear wheel well that the shock sits in. The stock is rubber that wears out and disintegrates after some years, so we all replace it when we put new rear shocks in.

Where can you get replacements for the RSM , Im in the same boat as far as upgrades go. I will be using the car for autocrossing / track and daily driving.

          Sorry to Hi-jack the thread

So if I go with the GC track/school package. I have sitting around the rear shock tower reinforcements from a z3, a JT-Design rear strut tower brace and JTD Rear Shock Mounts. What all would I have to get with the GC package, and what of the things I have would I be best to use?

What I can't seem to figure out about coilovers....if you're able to raise or lower each corner...how do you get all 4 corners to be the same height? I don't care about corner weighing the car or anything like that since I will only be driving the car on the street.

Height is immaterial as far as setting up a coilover system goes... it's all about the balance... namely corner weighting.

However if all you care about is the height, just use a tape measure from the ground to the wheel well (or center of wheel to wheel well). If you're within 1/4" you're as good as it's likely to get.
