Check this out, im this close!!!

First off, I must say this is one of the best automotive forums Ive come across. All of you seem very honest and willing to help other M3 out. With that said, I would like any comments on this 1995 M3 that I am seriously considering buying within a week. I am going to meet the owner today and he seems like a good guy. But he is definitly willing to negociate the price.I think this is a good price for the mileage including the upgrades. What is your opinion M3 owners?

Looks good to me. Best bet is to look over the car in person. Check the car for major accidents too. You can look under the hood and look at factory welds and seams. If you need, I can get you a pic of what thoes seams look like.

Btw, you're quite close to me :P

Although, Kellys blue book is comming up to 13,300 for their private party value. And this is with an excellent condition rating. You may be able to use that to bring the price down, cause for a 95, 18k seems steep...

Thanx dark_sirius for the quick reply! I will look over the m3 today and try and ask for 16,500-17 for it..Like you said, Ill have to wait and see. BTW, this is the exact m3 I have been looking for as far as color, wheels, year, condition (hopefully), etc. Im watchin my rear view here in Nova for that smokin red 97!!

If i were you I would play the springs off as a bad thing. I would do this even if i were excited the car had them.

The reason I say this is because a stiffer spring like he has installed will cause the stock shocks and struts to blow prematurely. With a car having 57k miles (60k is the benchmark for when the suspension might start going) and aftermarket springs not accompanied by appropriately valved shocks might have already caused them to suffer.

I dont know how much leverage that might get, but you might act as if "the damage is done" and keep the springs and then buy new shocks whenever you feel like it.

Just some thoughts. It looks good. I always think it pays to look for and pay more for immaculate examples.

Thats a ridiculous find. Thats something to question him about for sure..mine has never ever gotten that high even after mountain runs.

It sure looks to be in pretty good shape inside and out. Speaking of gauges, is that MPG gauge very useful? Accurate?

Yeah, the mpg on the OBC is pretty accurate... its more accurate when you clear it more often. So is the range function, or the miles for you e46's. You can drive the car down to --- miles on your range.. thats about the time to get gas... :P

The mpg on the cluster is accurate, somewhat useful, would be more useful to have an oil temp gague there though...

About the temp gague... he could have too much air in the cooling system...

That's a very nice car! Extra low mileage for a '95 helps the price. It's only missing heated&powered seats, but of course they're lighter because of that. Because of the condition and low mileage and desirability of an OBDI e36M, if I were the seller, I wouldn't want to let it go for under $18k.

The temp gauge is a bit high for my liking

AND why isnt there ///M Striping on the rear seats?

Look at the pic of the driver's seat. you will see the stripes on the rear pas seat.

Even though it appears to be in good condition, get it checked out! I was stupid and in a hurry when I bought mine and little stuff seemed to need fixing everywhere (I could have sworn these things weren't there when I was at the lot). Price is steep, but if you like the car and if it checks out, it might be worth the little extra. BTW, lowered springs really will cause some things to wear out prematurely. Good luck.
