    Wheels and Tires

Has anyone put replica E46 wheels on their E36. There are a bunch on ebay, I am looking these in particular. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=43958&item=2469973 210

Also, can someone give me the pros and cons to the staggered setup. I need rear tires and thought this would be a good time to get new wheels also. I currently have the M Double Spoke II.

In conjunction with the above, any advice on tires.

Sorry if this in a FAQ somewhere, I'm New

Staggered is good. Staggerd put more rubber in the rear, for better grip to the wheels that deliver the power. Smaller tires up front make the car less likely to follow every dip and bump in the road, oversteering? The smaller up front also make it a bit easier to control I believe.

My honest opinion, I don't like the look of the stock e46 rims anyways, espcially on an e36. Just my opinion though.

      The simplest explanation is that:

      1. Running a STAGGERED setup will give you more control while driving the car into a corner or a curve in the road. This setup will cause more Understeer. (designed by BMW engineers to compensate for aggressive driving conditions as a safety precaution)

      2. Running a NON-STAGGERED setup will give you the ability to rotate all four tires on the car providing you with the maximum amount of tread wear. Your tire life will increase at the expense of less control over the car. If pushed hard, you could cause a condition known as Oversteer . (the back end will want to whip around ) The amount of control loss is directly related to an individual's driving style. I have tried both setups and I honestly don't "feel" the difference. I don't really push my car all that hard. A BMW tech that owns a track car, told me that a seasoned race driver could easily tell the difference, but the average driver probably could not.

There are several additional factors that can affect both conditions.
