Need info on computer upgrades new owner

New owner of 98 Estoril Blue M3 Sedan. Love the car and the handling. But as former owner of 92 300ZX Twin chipped to 408 hp, am feeling power deprived. Have read all the discussions on chips here (by the way, much better forum than the ZX forums) but I live in an area where we have emissions testing. The Stillen modes on the ZX pass emission testing great. Will the Conforti (sp?) shark pass emisions testing ? How about if you add the optional intake with the computer upgrade? What about gas mileage impact? Appreciate any help.

Also on thing that seems to be wrong with this car is the AC. Drove home yesterday and had AC set at 65 trying to cool of the car. I am hoping it just needs a freon charge as the previous owner had not drive much over the winter. No problems with AC systems I hope?

Not sure about the software issue. But with the ac, did you have the quick temp knob under the center vent to its coldest? Its a common oversight people make with theses cars. If it was, check to make sure your compressor is actually kicking in, you'll noticed the engine drop rpms when it does, or you can listen for it. If thats working, then you prob need a recharge, and if thats the case, have someone look for leaks cause ac coolant doens't lose power over time.

The AC control ubits are known to fail. I've replaced mine. AC started kicking off and on... finally just stayed off. New head unit fixed everything.



Your emissions should be fine with the Conforti software and/or the Intake.
