    School-Yard Punks

Sorry to vent like this, but things like the following really chap my a**. I came out of work today to take some pictures of my car and someone had ripped the ///M and 3 off of my trunk. Obviously they used a screw driver because there are deep scratches running half the LENGTH OF MY TRUNK. What would someone need with my emblem(s); to put up on the wall, wear attached to a neckless? I swear to god that if I see some little punk wearing them on his/her neckless...I will not only beat the living day lights out of him, but I will go after his/her family on the basis of raising such a disrespectfull little f***. Thank god I found one on Ebay for $25.00, instead of paying $100.00+ at the dealer. The good news is I have my plans for next sat...a date with scratch x and some touch-up paint. Sorry to vent like this. :fuming:

Sucks. I see that all the time at work, right now we have an M3 sitting without any mouldings, emblems, SEATS, OBC, Headunit, and it may total loss because of all that. (mainly the cost of the seats). We found used vaders for $500 and the new leaather from germany is $2000!.

Uhh.. the dealership has to be ripping you off for that M3 emblem.. cause mins was around $15 my cost, and thats the E46 one.

      List price for the M3 emblem for the e36 m3 part number (51 14 2 250 811)

      is $32.25.

One thing I have learned at work is that touch up in a long scratch makes it look worse sadly.... file a police report, and call your insurance co and get your deck lid repainted.

I really need to get the pics taken from work up soon. Ever see what brake fluid does to paint? Can you believe we have had customers who tried to clean their cars with a brillo pad?!

And in case your wondering, I have an M5 emblem stuck to my monitor and a BMW roundel stuck to my computer case. Thats what you do with them

Yeah, I'm not kidding. From Hendrick BMW: $75 for the ///M and $25 for the 3. I about s*** my pants when I heard that...I mean christ, a new roundel was "only" $28.95. Thank god I won the ebay auction $20.50 shipped. DS I most likely will do what you suggested with the police report and what not. BTW I have already put flyers up at work and around my townhome warning others of such nonsense. Also, do you realize the "street value" of those emblems on your monitor, gotta be $300 at least

A big 10-4 on the nuts comment, we obviously think alike

That sucks about the scratches...I had my old Corrado at PSU as a freshmen and it got keyed from the back driver's side panel to the front fender, sucked but insurance covered it and i got 1/2 my car repainted

...about the flyers, I kinda think that will draw attention to your car more because people want to f*ck with the guys who really get pissed about it.

yea, the entire car was less then a year old new paint when it got keyed, so there was no fading at all...

You don't paint what you don't need to. Preserve as much factory paint as possible.

Besides... an all over is expensive. Say you brought your car to our shop, for some damage to a door. Thats like, $700 bucks to fix right, paint and all. Now, say you wanted to paint the whole car at the same time. That'll run you around $5,500 at least. Now, thats assuming your car is in perfect condition with no prior damage that would need to be fixed to make it look right...
