Best mechaincal mod for Euro 3.2

Time is getting closer so the reasearch is to be stepped up.



I wanna find out what are the best mods for power for the 321hp 3.2 to squeese more from it. I dont want forced induction (at this stage anyway).



1-Computer chip upgrade : are the aftermarket ones any good as though my experinaces with other cars and the only way to do this is to it in real time on a chassis dyno.



2-Cold air feed with improved filter: running cold air is usually a good thing to do, but will the MAF sensor cause a few issues with the pod filter.



3-Exhuast upgrade: Most people seem to upgrade the exhaust from the cat back. Does this mean the OE M3 exhaust is fine to this point. Is there any additional power to be had by replacement of the total exhaust system.

The pod filter shouldn't cause any problems with the air flow meter. The main problem with the air flow meter arises when the car is turbocharged and you fit an externally venting blow off valve. This causes reversion and the air flow meter doesn't get a correct reading (can cause stalling). But as yours isn't turbocharged yet you won't have to worry about that.



Not sure about the chip and the exhaust but I would imagine that fitting a decent 2.5" exhaust from the extractors back would be a lot better than a cat back. Cat back still causes a restriction further up towards the motor.
