I'm getting ready to buy this 97 m3 that I've had my eyes on except I'm not too sure how much to offer? What would be a good deal? Its a 97 m3 blk/blk, manual, 62k miles, and in good mechanical condition. The radiater might need to be replaced, it has a minor ding on a door, and several small chips on the windshield that are barely noticable. I know that the thermostat and water pump have already been replaced with the metal aftermarket type.

You need to look at a few price quotes such as Kelly Blue Book, Edmunds, and NADA. Take the average or the middle one. Then you need to subtract the value of any repairs/repolacements that need to be done. If the car needs an inspection/oil change (these are expensive for BMW's) or new tires, exc., subtract that too. That should give you a reasonable asking price.

The auto thing is killing poor Jeff over here. You're going to have to pony up more than 14k I figure for this thing though. 14k would be a nice deal, but realistically, I'd expect to pay 16k at least. I think with good mileage like that and if everything is in good shape, you can be happy with 16k.
Just me though. There is really no online guide that is worth anything these days. The used car market is really soft because of all the new car incentives, so you can get screaming good deals if you are willing to wait and don't jump on the first offer. The seller may be motivated...like Jeff. You'll just have to see.
I'm sorry BTW Jeff that you haven't sold your car yet. I remember when you posted pics and it was gorgeous. Great interior.
Sorry...
