picking up my M3 this wkend. first step, car cover. Evo4/Noah/Weathershield?? others?

hey guys, im going to get my silver 97 m3 this wkend in miami. i wanna make sure it stays as clean as possible (no garage)

what car cover would you recommend for FL weather? i would rarely if ever see snow. any of the above mentioned?

thanks, just looking for a suggestion and brief explanation why. oh, and i'd prefer not paying much over $150 for it. thanks in advance.

I had an Evo 4 for my Corrado and it was awesome vs everything PA had for it (snow, sleet, hail, wind, rain, sun)...Nothing but good things i hear about em

From what I understand using a car cover for daily purposes is not a good idea. It should be used for long term storage. I hear the the inside of the cover can rub the dirt on your car and scratch it, meaning you need to clean it before you put it on.

someone else told me the opposite. that leaving it on for the night isnt too bad, but leaving it on for week or so with rain etc can cause moisture buildup etc.

I keep the car clean weekly myself, I couldn't do a cover every day. Would be a pain in the rear IMO....

          Hmmm sun.. I recommend SPF 50.... :P

Well for my Corrado, I didn't use it for everyday use, only when i stored it outside in the winter

I've got a NOAH cover for mine. It's sweet, but I made the mistake of putting it on w/out washing is first and now i've got a few light scratches on my trunk lid above the rear wheel :banghead: . Go w/ a NOAH, but wash your car b4 you put it on!

I bought a custom fit Noah cover for my M3/4 and I also have two evolution covers for my other cars. The advantage with the Noah is that it is a lot less to wrestle with and doesn't fill the whole trunk up when you take it off. I believe the evolution covers provide the most bump protection, but I would get a Noah over an evolution price being equal. My cover is made by Covercraft. The fit is excellent. I believe I paid around $180 for it.

thanks, im planning on the Noah from covercraft. found it for $154 w/ lock cable and storage bag. yeah it does seem like a big pain in the butt to do daily, but how else can i protect it from bird sh!t and tree sap, among other things? i live in a house with the garage converted into a room, and trees all around. doh! considered a driveway tent/overhang, but dont have the $ for that yet.

i guess i could just make sure to wipe off anything that collects on it over night.

Bird poo is nasty. Especially the purple crap. That eats paint... if I was in your situation, I would use a cover.

you can buy one of those canopies/garages for like 200 bucks....they are actually pretty good quality, i got mine from K-mart and its still standing.

i bought a cover from bavauto.com.....nice cover and great from sun or bad weather but its a PAIN in the arse to put on and take off all the time.......what about one of those tent things?? (aluminum poles that snap together and a white cover for a makeshift garage?)

I had a car cover while in college for the Nissan that I had at the time, and when I went to Europe for 2 weeks, my car was awful. So much condensation, and other crap all over the car that I should have left it open so at least the breeze could have swept the stuff off. Now, I only use a cover on my car when I know it will be in the garage for a couple of weeks. Especially here in Florida, its really not worth it otherwise its going to be sitting indoors for a longer period of time.
