    Electric door lock problem

I just purchased a 1998 M3 convertible and recently the key fob will not open the drivers side door lock. The other locks function normally and I can open the drivers door with the key, has anyone else experiecned this problem?

I have an M3/4 and have a lazy right rear lock. It tends not to lock. I just unlock and relock and it works. I think the problem is the activator. Do a search on here, I think someone had the same problem last fall and it cost ~ $200 to replace.

I have an M3/4 and the right rear lock also has a problem, it locks for about a month then quits working, I have to open it up and take a look at it, might be something lose or a bad wire.

Does anyone have instructions on how to rip the panel apart and if any special tools are needed?

Its prob that lock actuctor. Its a small box that connects to your actual lock on the inside of the door. They tent to wear out. The parts not too expensive, but its a PITA to replace....
