    Re-dying leather... need color opinion

I am planning on stripping and refinishing the leather. I like dove gray, but maintenance REALLY sucks because it is the worst color for preventing wear on the bolsters. So I am considering doing the bolsters black, giving a two-tone look.

I do not want to go solid black. Solid dove or black/dove two-tone are the only two alternatives I am entertaining. I did some rough photoshopping to get an idea of what it might look like.

Sooo... the question is should I go solid dove? or Black/Dove two-tone? Need some feedback. :hmm:

mine is all black.. but since you said no solid black... I think I'd go all dove... the 2 tone looks too much like those "custom" Civic fake leather jobs at the car shows... where the seats and interior vinyl are all diff colors...

Agreed, go with the single color or something that isn't such a contrast. How are you planning on doing this? Using new leather or reusing?

maybe dove and purple to match the color of your car.. but that would probably be even tackier

Yeah, thats good photoshopping, you should just get someone to blow thoes pics up really big, and tape them to your seats. It'll save you lots of money!

So does redying the leather actually fix the wear and cracking?

There are companies out there that specialize in leather repair. We use them at work, and alot are mobile too. They'll repair your leathers cracks, and then re-dye it. A whole seat is like $400, but thats better than 2k for new leather...

The two tone is awesome. I did a custom leather job in my prelude with black and grey.

I think it would look sweet, but be aware that it takes FOREVER and is really annoying. Also, my leather never fit as well after I put it on the car after removing my cloth interior.

If you could match the color of your car good, I would do it two-tone with purple.
