    UUC sway bar problem

I'm working on installing my new UUC sway bars and ran into a problem with the front sway bar bushing. First of all, the bushings that came with my sway bars are yellow instead of red, don't know if that matters at all. When I look at the UUC website, it looks like our rear sway bar bushings are the same shape, but the front ones are not. Basically the stock bushing and the one from the UUC website bend in in the center, whereas the one I have bends out, so it doesn't seem to fit inside the mounting bracket. Attached is a picture. Is this the wrong bushing? Because it is too big for the bracket. What could this one be for then?

yah, I will...they're not open until monday I think though...

Update, the rear bushings are the right shape but the wrong size, they're too big to fit into the mounts argh...looks like I need to get a hold of the red ones ASAP. Don't want to waste time putting the old sways back on...

Bah, not only are both sets of bushings wrong, the rear strut bar isn't the same shape as the picture on the website, I think I got the wrong kit altogether Didn't get them from UUC directly, rather from a guy off eBay. Though he sent me the correct UUC Evo3 SSK, so I'm guessing it was just an honest mistake...

Well, in any case that's a whole bunch of hours down the drain, since I took out the old sway bars and had to put them back in, sheared off a bolt in the process that goes to my exhaust hanger. I'll post a pic, if someone could help me with a part number I'd appreciate it.

Here's the piece, looks like the bolt is welded onto the metal bracket that attaches to the rubber exhaust hanger, the sheared bolt faces right (the sheared off part is the part to the far right) If anyone has a part number I'd appreciate it...need to get a new piece (if just the metal part that'd be ideal, but I guess the entire hanger assembly would work too)

Bleh, I need ETK at home. I don't think the metal bracket is too expensive. But that super rubber peice they got is $50 at employee cost... which is horrible. Ill see if I can dig up a part number

Those are E46 M3 bushings, only the E46 M3 uses yellow.

I bet the seller sent you an E46 M3 swaybar kit... which also explains why the rear bar looks so different.

Big mistake on the part of the seller, the E46 M3 kit's MSRP is $595.

Maybe you should change the thread title to "I just got $245 free!" - there's no problem with the bars, after all, just the guy you bought them from.

Ha ha ha, so I should sell the e46 bars and buy new e36 ones...but then I'd feel bad...

Haha, that's a funny story and sorta sucky too. I'd keep the kit, resell it and think of the extra money you "took" from him as payment for the time you wasted.

I should have posted these pics for you before...

Here's what the E36 M3 set looks like. Notice the red bushings match the contour of your original bushings in the pic you posted earlier:

Here's the E46 M3 set... see the yellow bushings. Front bar is similarly-shaped between E46 and E36 (not interchangeable!), but rear is different:

If you buy a UUC exhaust, you don't need those hangers. The hangers are obviously weak, so all UUC E36 exhausts attach directly to the rubber.

But if you really want the hanger...
