Installed Eibach Pro street coil overs today need height sugestions

I am looking for some measurements. I do not know how low I can safely go b4 it is too low for street driving. I need the distance from yhe center of the wheel to the lip of the fender and 1/4 panel.

Car rides awsome. firm but totally civilized. Brake squat is gone. The rear no longer moves up and down during shifts. Handles much flatter. It is to soon to tell too much. I will know more after I set a final height and have it aligned. Any good sugestions for alignment #'s

    Thanks

    Larry?

why are you having an alignment done?

Generally after swapping out your suspension, you'll want to have an alignment done since it'll be all off whack.

any time you pull the suspension apart at least a check is needed.

i don't understand. you are saying that if i take my front strut out and put a brand new one in, i need an alignment? what exactly could go out of alignment? the strut goes in pretty directly and i can't see a reason to have the alignment done.

i'm not trying to start an arguement here but i need some solid facts as to why an alignment is neccessary in this case.

i agree with checking the toe in which you could do yourself. if that is fine, what else are you looking for?

I think he's doing an alignment because he's lowering the car. Correcting for negative camber, checking his toe properly, etc. If Im not mistaken, the Eibach C/O's can drop 3"...

everyone loves a little negative camber don't they?

now for arguements sake. say i have a height adjustable suspension. everytime i change the ride height, do i have to have an alignment?

no, in talking to JAY at Ground- Control he told me that ride height adjustments of less than 2" in either direction would not warrant an alignment, I take from that if you drop the car 3" one saturday you might need an alignment if you want to keep it that low.

Are you sure thats whay Jay said? Cause it does change camber and toe. You should re align the car when you change its height.

As for alignment specs, camber isn't adjustable without plates neither is caster. Only toe is adjustable, i run 0 toe, and would suggest it if you are lowered. In the rear camber and toe are adjustable. Get the rear camber around -2 or slightly under. For toe, 1/16 to 1/8 toe in is fine.

i'm just questioning all this because i have replaced my entire suspension and see no reason to get an alignment. it would be crazy to have the car aligned everytime you change the ride height on an adjustable suspension. it would also be crazy to drop this particular car 3" as well. so for anyone who wants to pay for the alignment, go ahead but there really isn't any need for it unless you have high mileage and you can feel that the car is out.

How can you say that? When you lower the car you increase the camber (which is good), you also will get toe out. Why not correct this by getting the car aligned once the height is changed? Its not crazy to realign the car everytime you change the height.

There really is a need to align the car when you lower it.

i know you increase camber when you lower the car and see no reason to adjust that. if you get toe out that is easily adjusted and can be checked at home as long as you know what you're doing. but everyone is saying you have to get an alignment if you change your suspension or ride height.

now if ride a round during the week at one height and every weekend lower the car for racing, am i going to get an alignment every weekend? no way. why would you? you increase camber which is perfect for the track and all you have to do is check your toe and adjust if neccessary.

SG-M3 i also have a thread up here that i want you to look at. it's suspension ? need explanation.

Sean ,thanks for the info. I am on the way to sears to get it done. Yeah I know sears..

But they have a new Hunter alignnment rack and a 6 month warranty. I can change my height or what ever and they will fix it free for six months or 6,000 miles.

Why would I want to possibly ruin $300+ in tires to save $55 for alignment.

Alignments should be checked every 7500 miles anyway. Every tire mfg recomends something close to this.
