    suspension ? searching for answers

i'd like to know why the front sway bar link was moved from the lower control arm on a 3 series to the strut on the m3?

what i do know is that the strut moves straight up and down. the control arm moves up and down the same distance as the strut but on a slight arc.

so how much of a difference does moving the sway bar link make? and why is the sway bar link so long on the m3? any info you guys have i'd love to know.

    thanks

I'm not sure why the swaybar was moved, i do know it allows the bar to be a smaller diameter but retain the same stiffness. Because the bar is longer its a longer arm so the effective rate also goes up.

These are great questions though, i would like to know the reasoning behind the move to.
