    Help with spoiler E36 M3

    m3'ers,

what would you guys pay for a used (but great shape) stock spoiler (titanium silver, with working brake light) off an e36 M3?

I'm in the middle of an internal debate on whether to take mine off. I went and got an estimate on removal, welding, and repainting of the deck lid and am weighing my options.

you don't have to be interested to help me out, I'm just wondering what you've seen these things go for, if anything.

    thanks,

    mk

I don't know how much it would be worth, although the dealer price quoted to me was 649.99 (new). If you do decide to sell it, I am very interested in taking it off your hands; just let me know the price you decide on...

I bought a spoiler off ebay painted with a third light that looks exactly as the orginal for $235 with shipping. So i dont know if anyone would pay much more for a used one. YOurs is an orginal so maybe u could get more. Why take it off anyway i had the m5 lip spoiler on mine and it look good but i think the spoiler makes it look a bit sporter. I dont think its worth the hassle and $ to take it off. Just buy some new mods or something else.

        Hammerk,

you're right it's a lot of cash they're quoting me to remove it, weld the holes, and repaint it ($550). I just like the subtle look a little better. I'm going to have to think hard about dropping the $$ for this, but if I decide to, I'll contact you echuntm3 first.

        thanks

Have you thought about trading trunk lids with someone who wants a spoiler?

Now that's a great idea! I'll ask around. There is this sticky pad underneath the lateral wings of the spoiler that looks like it might take some paint with it that will need to be removed, but that's definetly better than the $500-600 I was quoted to weld the holes and repaint. Thanks for the advice.

I'm still waffling day to day on removing it though.....I need to balls up and make a decision.....

I see that you're in WA, you wouldn't be interested huh

you wouldn't have a photo of an M3/4 with a lip spoiler by anu chance? I think that's the way I would like to go too if I put anything on the back.
