A day of Oil changes and Cleaning

Just thought it would be better to start a new post.

Purple and I spent about 5 hours on Saturday doing an oil change on his car and then waxing my car. Most of these pics were pre wax and it rained today. :banghead: So no nice pictures of the wax on my car.

Anyway, enjoy and feel free to ask questions.

Notice the double-support of the car on this pic as Alex puts the drain plug back on. It is always better to have a backup system if something fails.

After all that hard work the car looks pretty nice and it got a lot of the surface dirt off. The LTW wheels just glow when they are clean.

Maybe an anti-rain dance is needed...

Ya know, I am starting to hate the color green just because of that.

                  Guys,

Great job. Cars look great. I, too, just changed my oil and installed the Remus exhaust. I used "Rhino ramps" with good success and even failed to shear off my front splitters!!! Just thought I'd pass this along as an option to raise the car for work as well.

How much for the ramps, and where could I grab some? They go up high? I plan on putting some lighting under my car and Ill end up doing that in my driveway once the 40 days and 40 nights of rain passes here. I would prefer ramps to jackstands for a few obvious reaons...

I have them but I can't get my car on them anymore. Too low. You should be able to get them at any autoparts store and they will lift your car up about 12 to 16 inches.

I also have ramps with extensions, but Purples' car was still too low due to his lowered suspension AND splitters. So we just drove up on the extensions then jacked the car up from there. He only has about 3 inches of clearance between the splitters and the ground so it is a good thing he doesn't drive the car in the winter. I can't lower my car for that very reason (winter driving).

Thanks for the compliements. As of right now the car is terrible dirty from the rain and has worm guts all over the lower panels from my street.

They can be had at just about any McParts store. Check the Sunday Post for the PepBoys or Advance Auto ad, they put them on sale frequently. On sale, they can be had for ~$20, IIRC. I've used them before and they work well on lowered cars.

I'm old school though...give me a floor jack and a set of jack stands any day . I tend to work alone and am leary about using ramps without someone to guide me up on them.
