Prob, I have seen price ranges from 390 - 550 for the CF hoods. Matter of personal taste, cause you can't paint them from what I have read. So, you prob gotta like the look of the CF if you're going to get it for non-racing reaons.

Are you sure, because I swear I have heard of guys painting their CF hoods the same color as their car. And I have seen on TV how some riicer got some orange candy paint sprayed on his CF hood to match his paint job w/out obscurring the look of CF.

    Just what I know. :smash:

Where could i buy the clear bra stuff at, or is it one of those things where it has to be "professionaly" installed?

I think you can buy it online, but I would recommend having a pro do the install. Mine cost around $150If you do it yourself and mess up, you'll have bubbles. Just look in the yellow pages. I'll bet you can find something.

I went with a half bra, looks OK and will protect the front edge of the hood up.

Went ice blue with the head lens protection. I like the look, and now don't have to sweat blue bulbs that will cut light output.

Still put too much paint with the applicator! :banghead: Nothing bad, but for future I'm going to buy a tiny paint brush, that plus the paper brush method should help.

I like the invisabra idea, think it could be applied to other aplications beside a car?

                KUPolo--

I was told by a friend that the stongard blocks the UV and that after a while the covered part will be darker than the rest of the car. How long have you had yours on and have you had any problems? You probably get a lot of sun in CO.

What are the 2 things, or folds that stick up on regular bras for?

I think they are there to keep the bra from slaping around, to catch the wind and hold it to the car.

                      heh whoa old topic resurrected

                      i wanna expand on kupolo's touch-up method

                      go to http://www.langka.com

you can put a blob of touch up, build it up over a couple of days until the blob sits higher than the surface of the stock paint. then use langka to smooth it out and blend it to the level of the original paint.

                      http://www.langka.com/nfhow.htm#top

if you have lots of chips like the original post, maybe you can space it out over several days, just do a handful each day, no need to tackle them all in one session.

Correct on the bra folds, and also both ends hook to the underside of the hood, no movement at all.

Thanks DesmoBob for the suggestion, you've used this successfully? Sounds goods, almost impossible not to leave too much paint on small chips.

No problems. I've had it on for a year and my car sits outside 100% of the time.

I have friends that have had them much longer than that without issues. Just keep a good coat of wax on your car and the paint won't fade.

This sounds like an interesting idea. It works well?

Has this shown up yet? I'm thinking of giving it a try to fix my clear coat up.
