Good luck...hard work sucks, but it's so worth it for a car that you'll love. Think of it this way...one of your buddies always has to jump on the ugly girl out of the group so that the rest of you can have fun (you are the unlucky friend that takes it so your right foot will have a good time) .

haha thats a good way to look at the situation. :haha: summer is coming so i wont be in school so i will be able to work fulltime and get a decent amount of money saved up for a downpayment. plus i work at CARMAX so hopefully they have a couple E36's i can take a look at, but unfortunately there arent too many E36's at CARMAX, but if a couple come by this summer i'm all over it.

Another question i had would be how much of difference would insurance be between the M3 and my expedition. I know its a sports car and a two door, but my expedition is a 4X4. I would expect it to be more for the M3 but if you had to ques how much would you guys think the difference would be.

Also, for anyone who has had to work their a$$ off to get their M, in the end did you think the hard work was worth what you get out of your car. I just want to make sure im making a good decision to work my a$$ off for this car. i really want to buy one, but i would like some input on anyones experiences with working hard for what they have, im sure many of you can give some input on that. thanks a bunch

I hate to sound really old....which I guess I am, but hard work at your age to get something you really want is the beginning of a successful life. It will be very satisfying and will pay off down the road. I say go for it. Maybe Dad will chip in the final amount when he sees the commitment. As to whether the m3 is worth the sacrifice. I dunno. It is a great car, but I have had serious fun with much cheaper cars over the years. There are lot's of worthy things to make sacrifices for.

Shooting for an M3 is great and it will take hard work not only to get it, but also to keep it (maintenance, insurance, etc.).

My advice would be to not let this envy/desire consume you and keep you from reaching other important goals such as getting a good education, which in the long run will allow you to own other cars of your dreams.

If I were you I would not rule out an E36 325 or 328. Those would be great cars to have at your age and may be more practical.

I am not trying to discourage you and if your completely driven to own an M now, then more power to you. But these are some factors to consider.

        Good luck.

yeah, don't choose between college or an M3. Doesn't sound like you are, but just in-case. I think it is totally worth every penny...every time I'm bummed or bored or in a fight with my girl I go for a drive. It's a release and a hobby. These cars are more than transportation, just look at this website. You won't regret it.

I love going for drives in my car. Theres nothing more relaxing, especially when you got some good tunes going. Although, around this area, you can only really get a good drive late at night. I make it a point to drive for at least 45 minutes each night, its a good release imo.
