    HELP! reconnect convertible roof motor?

    Hi all

    convertible roof problem!

Can anyone help? I stupidly pulled the emergency lever under the rear seats in my e36 M3 that disconnects the motors that constrol the electric roof in case of electrical failure - when I check in the manual it says I should take it back to BMW to reconnect the motors.

Is there a simple way I can do this at home rather than take it to the dealers? My BMW dealer is 40 miles away, and I have to work!

    Thanks for any advice

The adjustments are behind pannelling in the boot. It can be a bit tricky to get right, and it might be case of trial and error to get it to reset correctly. You might be better off to take it to the dealers

basiclaly there are 2 motors.. they both need pushed back into place.. they are on hinges.. when u pull that it releases the motors and they just fall down with the hinges.. just push them back into place. there are 2..

Supposedly you have to re-initalize the motors to get it working again. If you like, I can get you exact directions, just PM me.
