I think that you should blow dry it first so that it heats up the sticky stuff. And try to pull it off. Maybe i'm wrong. Anyone??

Try a hair dryer rather than a heat gun and warm up the adhesive... run dental floss between the badge and the car as you do it... two people would help... clean any residue carefully with isopropyl alcohol...

There are a couple ways that you can do it. First you could use a hair dryer until the emblem is heated (soften the glue) and then run dental floss under the emblem. Supposedly that is the best way to do it. I have removed the emblems from my Mustang and also the dozen or so from my father's Explorer and that method never worked. I also bought a tool to do it, looks kinda like a shoe horn and that didn't work well either. In the end I just heated up the emblem and used a very small flat head screwdriver. I put some thick shop paper towel around the end of the screwdriver and stuck it under. I tried to pull up, NOT use the screwdriver like a lever. Oh yeah, NEVER TURN THE SCREWDRIVER. I have used that method for remove all emblems and never had a problem with it(aka I didn't leave any marks). Good luck!

Screwdriver??? *ouch*. The dental floss has always worked for me... It'll break a few times, but who cares... work it back and forth and it'll do the job. I've also used lighter fluid to help dissolve the glue...

In case people aren't aware, lighter fluid is a SUPERB solvent for cleaning all kinds of things! (grease, adhesive, etc.) and it's completely clean... leaves no residue and no smell, and will not hurt the paint.

Big emblems, small emblems, a screwdriver has always worked for me. If you have a little patience and even less skill you can do it without a mark every time.

try to use fishing line, instead of dental floss. Its strong and should do the job, it worked on my old jetta

                Good luck

After you get it off, you should list it on eBay. Not that we should be enabling those that want to slap M badges on other cars, but you will probably get some decent $ for it.

Use fishing wire or welding wire and run it behind the badge to get it off. Then use adheasive remover to get the rest of they sticky stuff off the car.

Heres how I have removed badges/stickers from painted areas of previous car. Go to NAPA and get a pack of plastic razorblades and some 3M adhesive remover. Either heat the area or wait until a hot day and apply a little of the 3M stuff. Let it soak in for a minute and then use the razorblade to slide underneath the adhesive to remove the emblem. You have to try pretty hard to screw up the paint with the plastic razor blade, but not to hard with the above mentioned screwdriver!
