~~VENTING: Ground Control pisses me off!!!!~~

I ordered my GC track/school kit 5 weeks ago, and was promised it was shipping either the 6th or 7th of April. Now, I'm informed they won't get the rear Konis in until the 3rd of May! Never mentioned that before. When I ordered, the company I dealt with (recommended by GC) knew I needed it ASAP as one front strut is leaking. I've been chasing the kit ever since I ordered it. Never trust salespeople! Feel like cancelling the kit and getting stock friggin struts.

I just cancelled an order for Konis today as well because of the backorder. My car is bottoming out and I really wanted them (externally adjustable) but I can't wait until early May to get them. Its unfortunate and I'm disappointed, but c'est la vi.

Ordered the Bilsteins from Turner Motorsports instead, so that should be a interesting experience. My brother-in-law has them on his M5 and its a very stiff ride. I'll try them out and if it's too much, I'll go back to the Konis.

    Good Luck.

Woah...interesting! I ordered my GC track/school kit April 6th or 7th and received them April 16th! I didn't order straight from GC, I wonder what's up with your guys orders...maybe we got a slightly different product? I got the dual adjustable rear koni's

They are saying my kit is being held back because I ordered the Externally Adjustable (EA) Konis. If I go with standard Konis, the kit will *ship right away*. Hahahaha...no one mentioned that the rear shocks were an issue when I ordered on March 16. I offered my supplier to tell GC to give me the DA Konis as a free upgrade...didn't seem interested. Is there a huge issue going to non externally adjustable rears?? Arrrgggg!

I didn't order C/Os, but rather the externally adjustable shocks and struts. I'm currently running the Dinan 1 suspension, which is pretty much the same thing. I ordered that setup at roughly the same time, give or take, and I don't think that anyone was expecting them to be on backorder.

This is really ticking me off though, that everything (it seems) from UUC is on backorder, the Eibach kit I wanted was on backorder, find out the Konis are too, but the Bilsteins just came off backorder! Its not like I was ordering the shocks/struts for aesthetic purposes - my car is bottoming out!

Perhaps I should just order multiple sets for future use!

          :violin: I'm done now.

Why did you not order directly from GC?

GC offers 5 different SA rear shocks for the e36 m3. Did you get shortie rear shocks? I'm running the exturnally adjustable rears and have no problems with them. Its not like you will be adjusting them every week.

A free DA upgrade isn't going to happen, instead of asking for something out of reach. You might ask for faster shipping, if you feel you have been lied to.

I ordered from a Canadian supplier to beat the taxes in my province and to beat the brokerage fee on shipping over the border.

All I wanted was externally adjustable SA rears...not shorties. They are suggesting, I guess, going for SA w/o external adjustment.

Faster shipping won't help if they don't have the parts.

Supra frustrated. I do have an option of cancelling with full refund, but it puts me back at square one and without the kit I wanted. I think I'll suggest getting the front end parts out ASAP to cure the strut issue, and then ship out the rears as all the pieces come in.

              Thanks guys.

Call TC Kline for the rear externally adjustable Konis.

ya, just have them ship the whole kit, minus the rear shocks.

cuz the rear shock install is a breeze, you can do that in around 1/2 hour. so have them ship everything but the rear shocks now, and when they become available, have them ship the rears.

Since this is suspension related, I am redoing mine next weekend with the Bilsteins (as mentioned above b/c Konis are on backorder). I have ordered RTABs and RSMs, but was curious if its worth it to change out the front control arms, and if so, is this a part that should be purchased by an aftermarket manufacturer or is the OEM acceptable. Car will never be tracked/auto-x'd and is a daily driver with no alignment problems.

                    TIA

If they don't need to be replaced then don't replace them. It's not like it will be easier with the struts out.

Ok, the owner of Tunerworks, my Canadian supplier, called Jay at GC yesterday and apparently there is good news. Jay called around and found 2 pairs of rear SA Konis and 1 pair has my name on them. I'm hoping to see the full kit by the end of next week. I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease, or is it the squeaky wheel gets replaced?

Call around and find somebody who had the kit in stock.....who may have stocked them on the shelf before they went on back order. If you find some then just cancel the ones that you have previously ordered. Just a suggestion.

                              isn't that illegal?
