    Windshield Wipers stopped working.

Yesterday on my ride home from work, my windshield wipers started to have a mind of their own. I had them set to intermediate, but all of a sudden while driving, they started to go full speed for 5-6 wipes and then back to normal. This happened 3 more times and then they just stopped. No matter what setting the wipers were in, they were stuck.

Then when I pulled over and put the car in Park, they started up again. I experienced this the whole way home. They must have completely stopped 4 times yesterday in a 1 hour time frame.

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm wondering if it is the windshield motor that is going bad.

Sounds like something with the speed sensor or the control module for the wipers is going out. Sorry, don't know what else to really say except to try a new wiper module.

Actually, since this problem sounds so rare, maybe go to a junkyard and pick up a used one for a fraction of the cost.

Ya know. When I took my insturment cluster out, and I didn't put it back in right, 1/2 of the cluster was dis-functional, kinda funny without the spedo working, or the car gaining milage! Anyways, I noticed my wipers didn't work right. Seems they are connected to the speed reading that goes into the insturment cluster, so if your spedo is working alright, I would have to say its prob a control module thats going out, or perhaps a funky relay.
