    Rubbing issues???

Thinking of getting 17 x 8.5's (40mm offset) all around. I want to run 255/40/17 in back and 235/40/17 in front. I will also be installing springs with a 1" drop at the same time. Jim (Tirerack) responded to a BF post and said I could go with 255 rears and 225 fronts without rubbing, needing to roll fenders, or using spacers. Anybody else agree or have any personal experience with similar setup?

    Thanks in advance

Im not 100% sure about the fronts, but I think they will be fine.

As for the rear, Ive been using my friends 255/40/17 inch tires without any hint of rubbing. While it may look close, the wheels camber in when the suspension is compressed so it easily clears the fender lips.

I think you should be good to go!

I had 17x8.5x40mm offest with 235/40's on all 4 wheels and it fit great. Actually, the fronts looked really good since they didn't have that "inset" appearance that the stock wheels/tires have on the front.

At the risk of hijacking this thread...what is the max tire size (both front and rear) that you can fit on M-contours w/o modifications :hmm: ? These would be on a stock ride height car.

        Thanks,
