hey there guys, i have a question for all of you. I am 20 years old and I have 1 accident on my record. Now, since it seems like most of you are makes between the ages of 16-24 I was wondering if you could maybe give me some insight onto what it will cost to insure my M3 when i buy it in a couple months. I know how expensive insurance is for young males :bugeye: . im dont want you to put down exactly waht you pay for insurance unless you dont give a sh*t about people knowing, but if you coul dmaybe just give me an educated guess on what i t might be for me to insure it. of course i will insure it for full coverage. im 20, with 1 accident that happened 2 1/2 years ago and will be off my record next November. So please just give me any information you can. i apprecaite it. :beer:

Well. I pay $500 ever 6 months to insure mine thru state farm, however, I use my dad cause hes got that whole discount thing working for him. I have zero accidents, but three tickets, but I am not sure if they reached s/f yet or not. -

You may not want to here this, but I pay over $500 every six months, which isn't bad. Except that I am also over 25, have a clean driving record, and also have a slight discount because my condo insurance is also on it. Good luck.Comment

My insurrance is $335 a month. I have 1 ticket (went to traffic school though) and have a minor accident (1 point) This is insurred under ME and full coverage. It's on my moms policy, and forgot what kind of insurrance, but she always gets ripped off on insurrance. I ran an online quote on MercuryInsurrance.com, and it was $260 a month for full coverage. I'll be switching to them sortly. I'd say this is the closest you'll get as far as an accurate guess for what you'll be looking at. I'm 19, also live in California, one minor accident...Comment

Im 18 and have a clean record with the good grades discount. If I get an M, they say I will pay $1752 every 6 months. I currently pay $1032 every 6 months on my Jeep Grand Cherokee.
At what age will the insurance go down for me? When I turn 20?Comment

i know in CA the age at which your insurance goes down is 25 but i do not know for other states. 500 every six months would be soooooo nice but we will have to see. i have state farm also so hopefully that will be close to 500. I dont have any tickets, just the one accident and i get the good student discount, so we will see. i need to call my insurance lady at state farm and get the ball rolling on this so i can plan ahead.

I live in Cameron Park now...lived in El Dorado Hills for 18 years of my life...It's right by Folsom. If you're living with a parent...you could always have the parent insurred on the M3 and you insurred on a different car that they are gonna be driving. Worked well with my Mustang Gt....Corvette....but mom got kinda paranoid so the M3 is all on me

haha thats understandable, but the only problem is my mom has an 02' 330i and my dad has an 01' 740iL so that limits my options, but none the less its worth a shot. yeah i know where cameron park is, where did you go to high school, oakridge?Comment

Looks like it varies alot state to state...I'm 20 with 1 accident 3 points, and no tickets, and I insure my maxima with liability and my M3 with full coverage and its 123 a month, insurance in NC goes down when youve had your license for 3 years and I haven't, but it will soon go down to 500 every 6 months. On the other hand if I was just insuring the M3 it would be 200 a month...kinda funny...but this is all with the discount I get for my dad having his house, truck and 540i with them. If I wasn't getting that I don't even want to know what I would pay.Comment

Man, some of you are making out like bandits if you're only paying like 1k a year. My prelude was like 2600 a year to insure in Houston with an almost clean driving record.
My M3 was going to be like 3300, but then I changed it over to Ithaca, NY insurance and it is still about 2k a year. Ithaca is THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. I'm 22 now and have no wrecks or tickets on my record (now).
I'm moving to Jersey soon and getting insurance there which will just be straight rapeage. By the way, there is a thread on insurance in the FAQ section.Comment
