I have the Yokohama AVS ES100s as well and like them alot. They are sticky, look good, and are pretty decent when it comes to road noise. I don't know anything about the Falkens though, sorry.
Because they're one of the most cost-effective sticky street tires and one of the top auto-x choices!
What he said. All of my friends that auto-x want these Falkens. They are supposed to be one of the best street legal, auto-x friendly tires. If that's your thing, then these might be what you are after.
will the 245 45 17's fit on without rubbing ? the car is stock, but i may want to lower it and i don't want to have rubbing issues.
The rear tires should be no problem, but the front MIGHT rub depending on rims used and alignment specs. Even if it does, you should be able to take care of it with spacers... or you can run 225/45/17 Azinas on front.
245/45/17's on the rear will hinder accelleration... and you'll notice it. The tires are about 2 inches higher... atleast this is my experience. While I had them on the rear I was going about 8-10% faster than what the speedo said. So when I was racing a mustang and I hit 130 and was coming up on him, he said we hit 140 and I never saw close to that. I hated it. Get the right size rear or else your going to feel like your car lost power.
Get the new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's they are worth the price. Also if you are running the stock wheels I would keep the stock tire sizes. If you go wider wit a taller profile you will sacrifice steering precision and quickness also kill the neutral balance the car is known for; making it more susceptible to under steer.
