What is the best way to add a programable rev limiter to an E36?

I would like to add an after market rev limiter to my track car. (stutter box) I don't want to modify the existing ignition system which is mostly stock. I know of many products easily integrated with American V8s. MSD makes some control boxes with rpm modules. Can I use anything like this on my bimmer?¿
