    Check Engine Light: Code P0302

Started my car today and the check engine light came on. I ran the diagnostic.

The result was a code P0302: Misfire in cylinder 2.

Does anyone know the remedy to this problem? and how much it would cost to fix?

    Help is appreciated.

How many times has it occured?

If you start/stop the car alot, you'll get misfires built up....

If its happened once or twice, I wouldn't worry about it.

This is the first time it has occured.

I wont be able to have my car serviced until a week from now.

Is it okay to drive my car for a week, with a misfire in cylinder 2?

Does this also mean I'm running on 5 cylinders since one of my cylinders is faulty?

No. Just means it didn't fire 100% according to the timing. It happens from time to time. I wouldn't be worried about it. Now, if it keeps doing it, then you need to get the car looked at.

At work, we see lots of misfires because start/stop the cars alot when we move them around.

You're still running on all 6. You would know if a cly died.

i just got mis fires in cylinders 5 and 6 a change of oil and the changing of spark plugs seemed to of helped.

Since the engine is mostly computer controlled timing wise there is an 80% chance it is a spark plug, or a faulty sensor throwing the timing off a fraction of a mili second

My Check Engine Light (Misfire in Cylinder 2) came on Saturday morning, and I start it up again Sunday night and it's NO longer ON.

Is this a common thing? Should I expect it to happen again?

And if it does...I am due for an Inspection II in about 2,000 more miles, can I have it checked then? or would it be pushing it?

If you're going to take it in for its inspection II, have them check that out...
