HID kit for my m3 need help

I came across a 00 540 that had good ballasts and one bulb(d2r) that was functioning. i tested it and it all works, the buld has a metal tube that goes down the the side of the bulb, and its cracked in the middle basically making it into two peaces, will that effect anytthing? 2nd i can get a set of d2s for $70 will they work with my d2r ballasts?

which headlight spec do you have? for example -if you have ZKWs I don't think you can just slide the D2R capsule into an H1 base, you would have to retrofit the D2R caps.
