    signature series M3s (dinan)

what does everyone think about that signature package that dinan offers for close to 3 grand.

    comes with:

performance chip, exhaust, cold air intake, strut bar, new dinan floor mats, dinan badge for trunk, anda plaque for your engine.

i just read about it this week and i think its a pretty nice deal.

if your dont know what im talking about go to dinanbmw.com and go to the e36 m3 section.

Sounds like they are selling the badge for $1000 to me, but I am not an expert on what these items are worth. Chip intake and exhaust would probably give 15 HP in my guesstimate.

      Over priced and worthless.

Just buy any intake, exhaust and you have all the performance of that package.

Hahaha, just saw one these M3's at the dealer last weekend. The price of the upgrades were posted on the windshield.

            Exhaust - $1699

Intake- $1499 (still was a boxed-in setup...looked totally stock as well. No CF)

            Chip- about $1000

And forgot how much the rest cost.

The total performance gain..............................23HP. ops:

The sticker price of the car was maybe $55,000. The "signature" DINAN package brought it up to $61,000, if not a tiny bit more.

I asked our friend there that sold us one of our cars why the DINAN parts cost so much. He said it was partly because they are the only mods that don't void the warrenty.

Dinan does not equal quality. Conforti intakes are just as nice.

                      Dinan does equal quality.

The short ram Conforti intake will never be as effective as the long tube one Dinan makes.

The only thing better about the DINAN is that its longer ("true" CIA), which Conforti could do if they wanted, and made from carbon fiber, which Conforti could also do if they wanted.

All I'm trying to say is that anyone can make the same quality intake as DINAN makes.

It all comes down to paying for the name and the luxury of modding without voiding your warranty (which is not of concern for the majority of E36 owners).

Mazur's friend is right, when I bought my car I had extended warranty, if I put ANY mods it would have cancelled the warranty so I had the dealership intall the Dinan exhaust and the chip. So if you're on an extended warranty it might be worth it (the warranty is about $3,000 up to 100K miles). Other than that there's cheaper alternatives that are just as good.

dinan does equal quality and no one should try to argue that since they have built quite a reputation but the thing is conforti equals quality as does aa and other companies out there...In my opinion dinan parts are a waste of money unless like previously stated you have warranty or live and california. I wouldn't personally do it becasue you will be spending a lot of money for not much performance

                              And why is that?

I've had both intakes, guess what, there is no difference their power.
