autoXers, which car is faster???

Ok, heres the deal. Im a seasoned autocrosser with the porche club. My father and I race his 99 boxter, completely stock with track rubber. The car is the 2.5 litre version. Im prety good, and usually lead my class(over the 2.7 litre, and boxter S). The boxter is a FANTASTIC autocross car, and i frequently beat most of the other cars with much more horsepower. The class has grown to about 12-15 boxters depending on the day, and i tend to be 1st or second out of all of them.



So, iv had my M3 for a little over a month, and am anxious to see how it goes at the autocross, and how it compares to our boxter. Would anyone wish to make some guesses?



I should be finding out for sure in june when i first autocross the M3. Im still going to autocross the boxter for points, but the M3, i want to try out when it doesnt really count, so i can compare. Plus, its more fun beating the piss out of a car thats not yours, and you dont have to buy tires for!

From what I've seen the Boxter is close with a good driver but usually fall short. BS M3 times are closer to Boxter S (which wow, they can brake!) but they run another class.

On the track the 350Z is usually the car to beat, watch out for tricked out 944 Turbo's, 911's and RX-8's.

for autocrossing, the 944 turbos ****. I know because we have one. Its out track car. Wonderfull on the track, shitty on the autocross, cause you gotta wait for the power.

a m3 with good shocks in it, will hang with a stock boxster.
