Last Tuesday my car stopped working. Nothing would happen when I turned the key. From troubleshooting and referencing with others, it was determined by many to be a broken ignition cylinder. I ordered one from BMW, they are coded to fit your key, and it should arrive tomorrow. Since the car is stuck in front of my house, I knew I had to install it so I started taking the ignition area apart today in preparation.
I noticed the ignition cylinder looked fine after removing it and though t it might be something else a matter.

This inserts into the main area, whatever it is called, and this broken piece is ultimately what starts your car.
I was happy to find the true cause of my suffering, and it was cool to take my car apart.
I have been driving my cousins Toyota Celica, with bald tires since this happened and it hurts me very much to see my car sitting there not being driven. I looked over the internals of the lock shaft and pulled out my big orange screwdriver, it was a perfect fit. I put my key around the copper key chip read thingy and BOOYA!!, Ignition

I put the broken piece back in, this was to keep the wheel from locking, and I stuffed a pack of chewing gum in the shaft, to keep the broken piece in
