    Side Moldings...

Just a quick Q... Do any of you guys know how much it would cost me to have my door handles and side moldings painted Cosmos black to match my car body? Iv decided to do it (depending on cost) because iv been getting pissed at the crusty white faded side molding that need cleaning every other day just to stay black!! (Makes my M really ugly if I don’t) So any price quotes of what it should cost would be really cool. Thx. eace:

Mother's "Back-To-Black" polish really shines up the black trim on our cars. I love the stuff and works great for the time being until I make up my mind if I even want to paint my moldings. I like the black moldings on silver, it really defines the car's lines.

I kind of like my sedan. The two rear doors is convient... not to mention they are less common then the coupes.

I've seen 4 E36 M3's since I've had mine, and only one of those four was a coupe. I guess people prefer the 4-doors around my area as they're more practical for family use.

Not knocking your car, just had to get you back :ha:

Seems to be opposite in this area. I dont' see many sedans.

But then again, we are practicly down the road from eachother... :hmm:

On a side note, I have put 200 miles on my car this weekend lol.

Yeh I'm right up 28 from you, but can't seem to find any coupes to play tag with. None of the sedans have wanted to play thus far and the one coupe I saw was going past me in the opposite direction. Oh well.

And as for the 200 miles this weekend, these cars are made to be driven aren't they?

Here's something I posted at bimmerforums concerning the crusty whiteness of side mouldings, I just tried this last night and love it, no more applying peanut butter, black again or whatever remedies you might use...

"I used to use "Black Again" but after last night I probably won't need to anymore. I been somewhat happy using a fat pencil eraser, but you have to do a lot of work, rub really hard to get into the texture of the trim and then wiping it all off took some time too. Also it didn't seem to work that great on the rubber parts around the windows and whatnot (which is why I used "Black Again"). Well last night I used that Mr.Clean Magic Eraser sponge thingy...I didn't have to rub hard, just kind of mild pressure back and forth a few times after wetting it. It leaves a white film, so I had a wet and dry cloth on hand to go over it right after I used the Magic Eraser. Of course while it's wet it looks wonderful, so I let it dry (takes about 10 seconds here in Florida heh). Well this morning I took a look at it, man it's the cleanest it's been in a long time, way better than when using the pencil eraser where I'd miss bits and you could basically tell it's been gone over with an eraser...oh well, hope this helps...give it a try (no I don't own stock in whatever company owns Mr.Clean) "

This is why I got painted mouldings. Then I can wax them all I like.
