No power to the cigarette adapter

Hi there - I'm brand new to BMWs as of yesterday - bought a '95 M3 that is a real kick in the pants.

It's in excellent condition however I have noticed a few problems that I thought I might be able to address on this forum.

First thing I've noticed is that the cigarette adapter isn't working - I'm not a smoker but I am a cell phone user and would like to plug my charger in while I'm driving.

Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem?

    Thanks!

Start with the fuses. Then check the wires.

Sometimes thoes cellphone adapters don't contact well either.

I just bought a 98 convertible and have the same issue, and after messing around with some Meijer cigarette lighter parts, I think I'm just going to wire in two auxiliary plugs and hide them beneath the seat...

Turned out to be a very simple fix - it was just a bad fuse. Thanks for the advice!

mine was a fuse too - found out it was one of the cell phone chargers blowing it out repeatedly (sometimes the $5 ones from walmart aren't worth it)
