    Heavy Rattling in rear

while driving, the back right (opp. of drivers side) rattles pretty heavily when i hit bumps or any small thing on the road... does anyone else have this problem...it seems to be pretty random, one day it wont make any noise, then the next day it makes a lot of noise... but it is definately getting annoying to drive w/ that noise behind you

    car drives perfectly fine btw.

If it is a rear strut mount, get it cheacked ASAP, as it could rip your floor apart if it fails completely.

i had a plastic bending noise on the same spot, very annoying. a mechanic told me it might be the rear control arms, but after i placed in my coilovers it was gone..

        Probably RSMs.

Check the RSMs, the rear parcel shelf and the rear seats (if they're fold down). The RSMs are your most immediate concern, but my parcel shelf was rattling and it annoyed the daylights out of me.

            Yes, check the RSMs.

I had the same thing and it was both RSM and the shocks. Ended up replacing the RSM and installing Bilsteins. The Bilsteins are a little rougher (actually, "jittery" is more apt) than stock and I was thinking they don't handle as well, but someone pointed out that the front end has positive camber. I have to have it adjusted to .5 degree negative to see how they really respond.

Is it normal to hear some light rattling from the rear in a convert? The weird thing is I don't hear any rattling from the rear when I go over bumps but its otherwise always there.
