yea im doin the swap on my 95 m3
many ADVERTISED prices cost alot for complete kits, the best place to get a kit for cheap is Bararian Auto Recylcing in sacramento, CA......you have to call to get a price, i got a full kit from a 95 m3 donor car for $1000
i opted for a new clutch for a total cost of $1300, and $100 shipping to new york, the kit included a ZF tranny, driveshaft, pedal assembly, shifter, and all the neccessary assembly
im doing the work myself (im 19) with my dad in our garage, on the first day we got the full exhaust system out, driveshaft, and half of the bolts holding the tranny in. second day we go the the rest of the tranny out, and set up the pedal assembly and ran hard and soft lines to the master/slave cylinders, thats as far as we got
if your mechanically inclined and have the tools, i highly suggest you do it yourself, it keeps costs down is a learning/bragging experience
fyi, all the parts are bolt on direct replacement, there is no drilling, welding, dremiling......the brake resoiver has a nipple for the hose going to the master cylinder, theres a perfect size hole in the firewall already, the brake/clutch assemply bolts into the same spot as the old brake asembly, etc...if you want ill let you know how the rest of the swap goes.....hope this helps!
oh yea, f$ck those who say it cant be done and is too expensive :box:
